Product Overview

This is based on the official Joint Chiefs of Staff training game developed for the United States Military. It is the only Real Time Strategy Game (RTS) using modern military units and weaponry in current world game scenarios.  Choose your side, marshal your forces, and make real war upon your enemy.

Product Summary

Real War blends the ease of a real time strategy game with units, weaponry and scenarios currently utilized by the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff to train military personnel. Terrorist Forces are threatening the free world, and the only power capable of stopping them is the U.S. Military. Choose your side, either the U.S. Military or the Terrorist Independent Liberation Army (ILA), marshal your forces and make real war upon your enemy, in the only RTS game where you are in command of today's military forces. All jets, ships and ground vehicles are taken directly from today's military - with a few special items right off the Pentagon's drawing boards. Real War delivers a stunning one-two punch of 3-D vehicles with their realistic movement against the backdrop of a richly detailed 2D world - with jungle, desert, arctic and plains environments. Fight online against up to 3 other commanders in a variety of multiplayer scenarios. No base building, no resource gathering, just pure strategy and glorious combat!

Previews

There’s a hole in the gaming market right now – modern military real-time strategy games.  There’s nothing out right now that lets you control a modern military in a real-time strategy game.  Nothing until Simon & Schuster releases Real War, that is.

                                                Gamers.com Preview 12/11/00

A real war game from the people who make real wars.

                                                IGN preview 12/22/00

The game looks fantastic

                                                IGN preview 3/8/01

Years of 80’s – era Cold War paranoia made me fear the prospect of WWIII, but now I can’t wait.

                                                PC Gamer

…you get to play in the whole Armed Forces toy box, because the game originated as a military trainer.
