The first show ever to feature Rocky and Bullwinkle was Jay Ward Productions'
Rocky and His Friends, which ran from September 29, 1959 to September
3, 1961 on ABC.

Saturday nights from 6:30-7pm kids everywhere tuned in to see Rocky,
the flying squirrel, Bullwinkle, his devoted companion, Mr. Big, the
evil midget, and his Pottsylvanian accomplices, the infamous Boris and
Natasha.

The show was so popular, that it also made famous the following cartoon
segments which were shown periodically during breaks from the main plot:

Fractured Fairy Tales, parodies of children’s fairy tales,
Aesop’s Fables, in which a philosopher father teaches his son
the ways of the world

Peabody’s Improbable History, depicting an intelligent,
person-like dog and his “pet boy” Sherman, travelling through history

Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties, the adventures of a Canadian
Mountie and his enemy, the evil Snidely Whiplash.

In 1961 the show was moved to NBC and renamed The Bullwinkle Show.
It stayed there until 1964.

In 1964 the show returned to ABC where it stayed 9 more years, until
1973

Since 1973, the show has been shown in reruns.
